My name is Jack Donovan and I am a graduate of the IDEAL School Class of 2016. I had been at IDEAL since preschool and went through every year up to 8th grade. After graduating middle school, I then moved on to the high school. I am at now, Oxbridge Academy. Since joining Oxbridge, I have participated in numerous clubs such as being a member of the “Habitat for Humanity club” and the editor for the “Film Club”. I have even taken part in class office during my Sophomore year for the class of 2020.
During this year, I hosted multiple fundraisers to help raise funds for our class prom. I have participated in two different sports, where I’ve played basketball from Freshman-Junior years and Varsity Sailing for my Sophomore and Junior years. I have also challenged myself academically since attending high school. Every year I have added on more rigorous classes and I’m at the point in my Junior year where I’m taking all honors classes at once. Going into my Senior year, I plan on applying to mostly Florida schools such as the University of Florida, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, and University of Tampa.
Since attending IDEAL, I have learned numerous skills that I still use today. I have learned study skills that have assisted me in finding success academically. I have also learned organization skills that allowed me to stay organized even with all the different challenges being thrown at me. But most of all, IDEAL taught me to be confident in myself and not to be afraid of what people think of me and people skills that help me to build strong connections with teachers and classmates. I think my time at IDEAL was very beneficial towards my future and I don’t think I would be where I am today without it.
